CANYON COUNTY
CANYON COUNTY
Canyon County, located west of Boise and established in 1892, quickly became the “Agricultural Heart of Idaho.” Its fertile soil and climate are ideal for crops and have fostered a thriving wine industry, particularly in the Sunnyslope region, which contributes significantly to Idaho's winemaking reputation.
The county is anchored by its main cities, Nampa and Caldwell. Nampa, the largest city, is a hub for industry and education (Northwest Nazarene University). Caldwell, the county seat, hosts the annual Canyon County Fair and features the revitalized Indian Creek Plaza. Located along I-84, Canyon County offers excellent connectivity, balancing its deep agricultural roots with rapid growth in manufacturing and technology. It presents a dynamic blend of rural charm and a bustling, growing economy.
